The impact you'll make:

Reporting to the Regional Manager - West the District Manager (DM) is accountable for leading all aspects of their multi-unit store portfolio. Through attracting, leading and developing Store Managers, the DM drives key business results by ensuring all aspects of the in-store experience are delivered consistently and in alignment with our commitment to providing our community members with excellent service and spreading global wellness.

While fostering an environment that delivers upon the Company’s Culture and Service ethos, this role balances an operational mindset, strong business acumen, and a people-centric approach to increasing productivity and profitability of the retail business.

The DM is accountable for partnering cross-functionally to create annual and quarterly strategies for growing their business portfolio through key areas of the business including People, Operations, Visual Merchandising and Community outreach.

All Saje Team Members are responsible for contributing to Saje’s culture and maintaining a positive environment for themselves and their peers.

What you'll do:

Store Experience

  • Authentically connect with customers and deliver consistent and exceptional service following the standards of our sales model, the Saje Experience.
  • GPOP (Get Product On People) to demonstrate our product, both inside and outside of the store, to drive awareness and understanding of Saje.
  • Educate on our products and on 100% natural wellness, to make wellness easy, accessible, and inclusive for all.
  • Make bold recommendations to support the wellness needs of our customers, building baskets to create and expand on healthy habits centered on our products.
  • Contribute to a team environment where all Team Members consistently experience a sense of belonging and inclusion. 

Business Ownership

  • Generate business results and achieve key KPIs including revenue and comp growth goals, AVS, IPT, traffic, conversion, loyalty program growth and labour targets.
  • Uphold presentation standards and partner with the visual merchandising team to impact merchandising opportunities and elevate the in-store experience.
  • Take a proactive and innovative approach to growing the business through test/learn initiatives and strategic community outreach.
  • Create annual and quarterly strategic plans to support the growth of the business.
  • Display strong business acumen and analytical skills to grow the retail business.

People Leadership

  • Inspire and uplift your peer group through peer coaching, collaboration and by embodying our core values.
  • Create a team environment where all Team Members consistently experience a sense of belonging and inclusion.
  • Attract, hire, train, and develop high-performing Store Managers who are committed to creating the conditions for financial wellness in our Retail stores.
  • Administer mid-year and annual reviews, sets goals, and deliver feedback regularly with direct reports.
  • Establish and maintain key communication rhythms including but not limited to: weekly conference calls, 1:1s, and weekly, monthly and quarterly business updates.
  • Engage, develop and retain top talent by leveraging their expertise and unique skillsets.
  • Create and maintain a succession strategy.
  • Hold Store Managers accountable for development and succession planning at all levels in Retail.
  • Effectively utilize store visits to assess, develop, inspire, and support store teams.
  • Serve as a liaison between the field, Regional Director, and support office partners to provide insights and solutions.

  • Multi-unit Retail Leadership experience – has led a minimum of a 5-store portfolio to consistently achieve topline sales results while responsibly managing bottom line profitability.

  • Community connector – experienced and passionate about building a brand through community relationships
  • Track record of success - has achieved or exceeded success metrics 90% of the time throughout their career; tends to be at the top of peer group; performance reviews are in top echelon; promotions were earned faster than most
  • Stamina and positive attitude – thrives in a challenge; is solutions focused; will see the bright side of situations, resilient through adversity and never gives up

The compensation range for this position is from $85,000 - 95,000 annually.  Your total compensation is made up of base pay, a generous bonus program with monthly payment schedules, and additional extended benefits. Base pay is dependent on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
